Software Development Engineer III (UI/UX)

What you will do:
* Participate in a community of practice to share and gain knowledge
* Share new skills and knowledge with team to increase effectiveness.
* Understand the relationship between applications, databases and technology platforms
* Identify design system components capable of being inner-sourced out to the larger organization
* Coordinate bringing together different partners with varied perspectives to develop solutions to issues and gives own suggestions
* Recognize areas of inefficiency in code or systems operation and offers suggestions for improvements
* Compile and report on major operational or technical initiatives (like RCAs) or UX research to larger groups, whether via written or oral means
* Use both qualitative and quantitative insights of customer research and data and business analytics to drive insights and solutions
* Architect reusable functional components for use across our global sites (i.e. form widgets, content modules, etc)
* Optimize everything for speed, speed, speed. Know the rendering engines in each browser and their weaknesses
* Utilize node, gulp to compile and transcribe your code
* Write semantic HTML components
* Drive new features from inception to production, working across the company with product managers, UX designers and other partners
* Participate in resolution of production issues and lead efforts toward solutions
* Giving to development standards working closely with the Dev Manager
* Discussing technical solutions with peers and providing innovative new ideas to solutions
* Maintaining a high awareness of industry issues and trends, particularly in regard to accessibility, usability, and emerging technologies
* Help on board and train junior UI devs
* Communicate and work efficiently with geographically distributed multi-functional teams
* Showcase your work on our tech blog and internal & external conferences
Who you are:
* 3-5 years of experience as UI developer
* Experience working on progressive web applications
* Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, Object Oriented principles and JavaScript
* Experience working with Java, Kotlin and Graph QL
* Experience creating mobile-first experiences
* Experience with ES6 or other JS libraries
* Up-to-date familiarity with emerging W3C standards (HTML5, CSS(4), etc)
* Knowledge of working with JavaScript frameworks to create rich interactive content
* Solid knowledge of cross-browser/multi-device support; mobile-first
* Experience using version control systems (Git, SVN, etc)
* Solid understanding of node, npm and gulp
* Solid understanding of Web Accessibility, experience building sites to at least an AA standard
* Demonstrates strength in a couple languages and/or one language with multiple technology implementations
* Bachelor's or Masters degree in a related Technical field or equivalent related professional experience
* A passion for travel
