The Harley-Davidson Motor Company Corporate Headquarters in Milwaukee, WI is the site where the first H-D factory - a wooden shed - was built in 1903 in the backyard of the William C. Davidson family home. Join our team as a Consumer Product Management.

This position discovers and represents the Voice of the Customer in the development of new accessories from inception through launch and beyond. The Consumer Product Manager understands the accessory market including customers, competitors, and go to market channels. The role leads the business in developing products that enable us to compete and win. Additionally, this role manages the lifecycle for both new and existing products, deciding when to obsolete, replace and refresh current products.

Ideal candidates will have first-hand motorcycle riding experience, however its not required. This role strives to ensure the products on Accessory Product Plan are innovative, aligned with the brand legend and represent customer wants with a strong focus on driving business results.

A critical responsibility of the Consumer Product Manager is to act as the primary product development project interface, managing accurate and timely communications with key stakeholders including sales regions, marketing and the product development community to ensure both successful product development and launch of the new products.

As the subject matter expert, the Consumer Product Manager develops volume and financial forecasts for projects, balancing investments against enterprise objectives. This expertise supports the planning and development of new product offerings and ongoing product improvements consistent with global customer strategies, customer requirements, business strategies, enterprise plans, global opportunities and quality, cost, and timing targets that meet/exceed agreed upon goals.

Job Responsibilities

* Create VOC and product requirements based on the analysis of market research, customer and dealer insights, stakeholder inputs leading to creation of product strategies, roadmaps, and delivery of competitive accessory products.
* Maintain regular communications with appropriate stakeholders including sales regions, marketing, and the product development community.
* Develop an understanding of the sales and marketing channels including dealer network, e-comm, and marketing channels in order to inform Go To Market strategies and plans.
* Lead and own select portfolio management department processes ensuring consistent delivery of work across the portfolio team.
* Actively listens and seeks diverse opions, shares information honestly and transparently.
* Analyzes and interprets data to provide data and fact driven recommendations.
* Actively contributes to improving the portfolio management teams processes.
* Embraces and demonstrates the H-D 1 culture of high performing teams and being Fair, Honest, Positive, Creative.

Education Requirements

* Bachelors Degree Bachelor's Degree in a Business, Marketing, Engineering or related field preferred.

Experience Requirements (5-8 bullet points)

* Typically requires a minimum of 3 years of related experience in product/portfolio management.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to translate this understanding into strategic direction and actionable products that results in value in the customers eyes.
* The ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization by providing input on a technical solution that meets the criteria and influence others to approve and support the direction.
* Proven skills in leadership, communication, collaboration in the execution of new initiatives and the ability to successfully challenge and motivate others.
* Ability to analyze and interpret data and recommend solutions based on data analysis
* Experience improving the relevance of products and the efficiency of our processes through continuous improvement

Preferred (if applicable)

* Motorcycle riding experience preferred.
