Job Description: The Section Manager (SM) will be responsible for managing the delivery of IT Services for the customer bases located in Goleta, CA for EW Self Protect Systems. The SM will not only develop the assignments and the performance of the people assigned to this team, but will also direct the development and use of the processes used to deliver services to our customers. The SM will guide and manage the career development and growth of their staff, as well as provide both formal and informal mentoring and coaching to staff across the organization. Must be able to act independently, guided only by very broad company and department policies and designs. Serves as a principal spokesperson for IT when dealing with Engineering Centers, Programs, and Cyber Security. Will resolve and pursue courses of action necessary to obtain desired results. The SM will partner with their staff, our programs, Cyber security, and other SAS IT functions to develop and manage a forward-looking staffing forecast. Will also oversee the day to day IT operations and maintain the approvals to operate multiple Classified IT environments along with the normal IT services. Experience in a team lead role is desired, ability to work in a highly matrixed environment is desired. Good interpersonal and leadership skills are also required to effectively develop projects and the team members.
Required Skills:
Minimum 10 years IT or Cyber Security experience. A Masters degree may substitute for 2 years of experience, a PhD may substitute for 4 years of experience.
Demonstrate IT Technical experience in supporting either end user services, server services, or both
Experience in a team lead role
Good interpersonal and leadership skills are also desired to effectively guide projects and the team members
Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance
Knowledge of Project Management tools and processes.
Security+ certification or equivalent within the first 6 months
Desired Skills:
Direct Project Management experience using Agile techniques
IT Operations including procedures, metrics, service desk, etc.
Completion of Raytheon Front Line Leadership Training or equivalent
ITIL Foundations certificate and experience executing ITIL principles including Availability management and general operations
Technical certificate(s) in the areas of Operating Systems, Networking, Storage, Database, Security (Security+, CISSP, CISSM)
Required Education (including Major): Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Computer Science, or Business related degree preferred. Other degrees considered with commensurate related IT experience.
