Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for Sr. Principal Virtual Simulation Tactical Simulation Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL .
Essential Functions:
* Support the development and execution of Virtual Simulation (aka Pilot in the Loop) testing in next generation air war mission environment
* Test product definition and development as well as associated Concepts of Employment (CONEMPS) and Concepts of Operations (CONOPS)
* Model and/or develop logical designs that model next generation aircraft avionics capabilities to include multi-spectral sensors, communications, and electronic warfare
* Execution of all steps of Pilot in the Loop testing process: problem definition, design of experiment, simulation requirements development, test article verification and validation, training of operators, conducting tests, analyzing data, and reporting results to stakeholders

Qualification
Basic Qualifications for a Sr. Principal Virtual Simulation Tactical Simulation Engineer:
* Bachelor rsquo;s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 9 years of engineering experience OR a STEM master rsquo;s degree and 7 years of engineering experience OR a STEM PhD and 4 years of engineering experience
* Experience performing systems/operational analysis and/or weapon systems analysis in air war applications
* Experience performing weapon system level design, integration, or test and evaluation
* An active, in-scope Top Secret DoD Security Clearance with issue/reissue in the last 5 years
* The ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company to meet program objectives
Preferred Qualifications:
* An understanding of tactical aircraft aero-performance, sensors, weapons, and communication
* Operations analysis and/or virtual simulation experience
* Weapon system level test and evaluation
* USN Top Gun, USAF Weapon School, and/or USN/USAF Aggressors
* An understanding of Integrated Air Defense Systems and capabilities
* An active TS/SCI clearance
