Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer. This position will be located in Colorado Springs, CO and will be part of the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program (Minuteman III ICBM replacement) development contract. Learn more about the GBSD program here.
Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force rsquo;s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.
What you will get to do:
Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:
* The candidate will be responsible for their projects, preparing reports, and briefing leadership. Frequent inter-organization and outside customer communication is required and the candidate represents the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects.
* Performs technical planning, command and launch system test integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
* Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems test solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
* Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition to translate customer requirements into hardware and software test procedures for sub-system element level test.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Qualification
You rsquo;ll Bring These Qualifications:
* Bachelor rsquo;s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or Software discipline from an accredited university with minimum 9 years of related engineering experience with a bachelor 39;s degree; 7 years 39; experience with a related Master 39;s degree; or 4 years 39; with a PhD
* US Citizenship with an Active Secret Clearance or higher (awarded within the past 5 years)
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
* Proficient with DOORS and Cameo
* Experience with Teamcenter
* Experience establishing product requirements, design of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical equipment
* Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills
* Must be knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite - Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word
* Must possess the ability to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment, including critical thinking and technical problem solving skills.
* Hands on experience in equipment maintenance, fabrication, assembly, power, hand and measuring tools
* In depth Aerospace / ICBM maintenance experience
* Knowledge in design of mechanical and electrical ICBM subsystems
* Knowledge in the development of SE design solutions
