Primary cutting die technician duties / responsibilities include:

- following all safety rules and practices;

- reading factory work orders, design specifications, and other documents to learn customer

requirements;

- verifying the quality of incoming (both new and used) cutting dies by inspecting the boards;

- assigning storage locations to incoming cutting dies and forwarding completed locator forms to

customer service;

- informing customer service when cutting dies have been received;

- insuring that cutting dies are properly identified;

- shipping out designated cutting dies for revision and/or use at other facilities;

- marking cutting dies for annual usage identification;

- inspecting cutting dies after they have been used; and repairing, reconditioning, and improving

the dies as appropriate to optimize performance on the next run;

- maintaining well organized work areas, storage areas, and storage systems for cutting dies and

cutting die materials and supplies;

- accurately completing time sheets, reports, lists, and other records;

- communicating as needed with machine crews, supervisors, customer service representatives,

and managers to obtain replacement cutting dies;

- working with machine crews, supervisors, designers, suppliers, and others as needed to obtain

optimum quality and productivity on die cutting operations;

- keeping the supervisor informed of supply needs and any problems and/or unusual situations;

- maintaining work areas to plant standards of housekeeping;

- maintaining teamwork with converting machine crews and other associates; and

- performing other duties as assigned by supervision.
