The Medical Analytics Hematology Lead sits at the heart of the data revolution occurring across pharma and within BMS. He/she is a member of BMSs growing Medical Analytics team, which is part of the companys broader Business Insights & Analytics (BI&A) function. Through rigorous analysis of rich field medical data, he/she ultimately helps leaders in Medical Affairs and Field Medical make more informed business decisions and help quantify Medicals impact.

The Medical Analytics Hematology Lead collaborates with the extended Medical and Commercial matrix to uncover opportunities to optimize Medical and Field Medical resources to facilitate strategic decision making. Additionally, the Lead will analyze and leverage data to optimize Field Medical deployment and engagement, help quantify the impact of Field Medical and facilitate strategic decision-making. This includes data from Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) and Field Medical Excellence, as well as other data sources. He/She is the go to source for Field Medical leaders and serves as an ambassador of the Medical Analytics team to the rest of the organization, working to connect field medical analytics with home office strategy and tactics.

Day-to-day responsibilities include: understanding stakeholders key objectives, needs, and challenges; conducting statistical analysis and leverage advanced analytics; extracting valuable and actionable insights from datasets; identifying emerging trends; designing compelling stories with analytics/insights that facilitate stakeholder decision-making; identifying creative ways to analyze and present analytics; proactively anticipating stakeholders needs; continuously looking for ways to measure and demonstrate the business impact delivered by field medical.

Key Responsibilities and Major Duties

* Serve as the go to contact for data analytics for Field Medical, US & WW Medical Strategy Leads, Commercial TA Leads, and Field Medical Excellence Leads

* Participates as an active member of the Medical matrix team. Work with the extended Medical matrix, including Field Medical, US & WW Medical Strategy Leads and Field Medical Excellence Leads to understand their business objectives, challenges, and data analytics requests/needs

* Develop creative, outcomes-driven analyses to optimize Medical Strategy and Field Medical resources to help drive enterprise performance

* Provides strategic input and insights as part of compliant collaboration across the matrix in support of account management.

* Promotes effective working relationships with internal partners including cross-matrix field leadership. Establishes effective cross-functional work practices.

* Analyze Field Medical data to drive performance and show impact

* Proactively identify emerging trends

* Analyze Field Medical Excellence data to inform the development of training programs and business solutions to further drive field medical performance

* Analyze and communicate highly critical insights and trends from Field Medical and perform additional root-cause analysis with key stakeholders

* Work cross-functionally with key stakeholders and with vendors to deliver results on time and on budget

* Share Field Medical insights, best practices and learnings across the Field Medical community globally

List of minimum requirements

* Degree/Certification/ Licensure

* Advanced degree in scientific (MS, PharmD, PhD) or technical field (engineering, statistics, mathematics)

* MBA preferred but not required

* Experience Responsibility and minimum number of years

* 3-5 years experience in the pharmaceutical, healthcare, financial or data/technology industries in delivering operational analytics that drive decision making

* Experience working with different functions and teams (ex: Medical Strategy, Global Development & Medical, Sales and Marketing matrix teams); Understanding the business value that appropriate Medical support can provide within an integrated cross functional team.

* Work in cross-functional teams with proven track record managing multiple projects and priorities

* Work in a matrix environment with ability to succeed in an ambiguous environment.

* Experience in Field Force, Field Force Operations, and Performance Analytics

* Experience in Medical Affairs and or Field Medical highly regarded

* Experience working successfully in a matrix organization, including articulating value propositions, balancing trade-offs and managing demand

* Demonstrated ability to build relationships with stakeholders and influence, negotiate, and drive organizational engagement

* Understanding of Medical Affairs and Field Medical

* Deep understanding of how to use data to answer critical business questions and develop creative solutions

* Ability to understand stakeholders business requests and needs

* Excellence in both written and oral communication

* Ability to be flexible and adapt quickly to the changing needs of the organization

* Ability to adapt and reprioritize in a rapidly changing environment

* Ability to design analysis and identify the right data to optimize Field Medical deployment and external engagement

* Demonstrated ability to independently evaluate and draw insights on quality metrics and interconnections with operational metrics

* Ability to differentiate robust from incomplete data

* Ability to efficiently synthetize a large amount of information into key insights and communicate them effectively

* Understanding of advanced analytics techniques, including simulation/predictive analytics, managing structured and unstructured data, etc.
