Job Responsibilities
* Use virtual manufacturing technology to perform design validation tasks, complete Design for Manufacturability and Design for Supply Chain assessments and create initial manufacturing documentation for new power box assemblies. Drive correction of design issues and manufacturability improvements before the first physical build.
* Measure design first pass yield; collaborate with the design engineering team on systemic actions to improve long term first pass yield performance.
* Drive corrective action implementation for issues found during contract manufacturer control build process. Ensure appropriate change control methods are followed during contract manufacturer build process.
* Participate in design reviews and PDR reviews; ensure new power box designs are manufacturable prior to customer shipment. Escalate effectively to maintain alignment between supply chain and design engineering teams.
* Influence design decisions- BOM structure, product commonality, component selection- to accelerate product transition and improve cost and quality performance
* Estimate manufacturing costs and validate supplier quoted labor costs
* Identify fixturing and process requirements for new product lines
* Collaborate with Design Engineering, contract manufacturing partners and Supplier Quality Engineers to develop processes to drive transformational change in supplier quality, cost and ramp performance.
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelors degree in Manufacturing or related
* 8 years of related experience preferred
* Successful candidates will have experience in problem solving and demonstrate the analytical, verbal, and written communication skills necessary to positively influence cross functional teams with members from design engineering, supply chain operations, Lam manufacturing and suppliers.
* 3D modeling experience required, and product design experience preferred. Preference will be given to candidates that also have experience with virtual build methods and software.

Fremont, CA
Lam Research Corporation is an American corporation that engages in the design, manufacture, marketing, and service of semiconductor processing equipment used in the fabrication of integrated circuits. Its products are used primarily in front-end wafer processing, which involves the steps that create the active components of semiconductor devices (transistors, capacitors) and their wiring (interconnects). The company also builds equipment for back-end wafer-level packaging (WLP), and for related manufacturing markets such as for microelectromechanical systems (MEMS).
Lam Research was founded in 1980 by Dr. David K. Lam and is headquartered in Fremont, California, in the Silicon Valley. As of 2018, it was the second largest manufacturer in the Bay Area, after Tesla.
As a trusted, collaborative partner to the world’s leading semiconductor companies, Lam Research is a fundamental enabler of the silicon roadmap. In fact, today, nearly every advanced chip is built with Lam technology.
Our innovative wafer fabrication equipment and services allow chipmakers to build smaller, faster, and better performing electronic devices. We combine superior systems engineering, technology leadership, a strong values-based culture, and unwavering commitment to customer success to accelerate innovation, enabling our customers to shape the future.
