Ideal candidate will have general knowledge of the State of Texas Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) purpose and goals; knowledge of the capital construction process and strategic planning.

SUMMARY

The primary purpose of the Associate Director position is to provide oversight and direction to the HUB and Federal Small Business Program functions. Responsibilities include administration and coordination, personnel management, promotion, financial management, reporting, and process improvement of an aggressive and effective supplier diversity program that meets both Federal Guidelines and Texas Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) requirements.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

Program Supervision and Management
* Provide overall leadership and direction for MD Anderson's Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) and Federal Small Business (HFSB) Programs.
* Monitor and report Legislative and Regulatory matters that may have potential impact on MD Anderson's program performance.
* Represent MD Anderson in professional and advocacy organizations, committees and workgroups relative to the Institution's HFSB Program.

Collaborate with MD Anderson Operational Areas
* Collaborate with other MD Anderson operational areas to develop short and long range strategic objectives, implement solutions to HFSB program performance issues and to enhance the effectiveness of the HFSB Department.

Management and Reporting of HFSB Program Activities

Ensure the timely accurate and effective management and reporting of HFSB program activities to include, but not limited to:
* Program performance stated in dollar value and percentage of MD Anderson total expenditures by commodity category and Institutional Executive and Department reporting levels.
* Review of HUB subcontracting plans during solicitation of bids/proposals and monitoring of HUB participation in accordance with subcontracting plans during contract execution.
* All State of Texas and Federal Program and contract compliance reporting requirements.

Other duties as assigned

Bachelor's degree in Science, Healthcare or other related field. Ten years of progressive managerial experience in marketing and/or small business development. Successful completion of the LEADing Self Accelerate program may substitute for one year of required supervisory or management experience.
