Saint Simons By-The-Sea Hospital is a 101 bed psychiatric and addictive disease hospital for adults and adolescents. We strive to provide quality mental health treatment and addiction treatment services in the area. Located on Saint Simons Island, Ga., Saint Simons By-The-Sea's serene island setting ensures privacy and anonymity, enabling the patient to concentrate on recovery. Our hospital is conveniently located within driving distance of Jacksonville, FL, Savannah, GA, and other surrounding cities in the South Georgia and Northern Florida region. The hospital's comfortable, supportive environment helps put patients at ease. Saint Simons By-The-Sea's staff has extensive experience in the fields of addiction treatment, recovery, relapse prevention and mental health treatment.

Saint Simons By-The-Sea Hospital is seeking a experienced Cook/Dietary Aide to assist on the weekends, and at times, during the week, who is responsible for the preparation, presentation, delivery, and serving of nutritious and healthy food to the patients and staff of our facility.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited too:

* Demonstrate knowledge of proper food preparation including receiving, storing, handling, and following recipes.
* Prepare and serve food in quantities according to menu, number of people to be served, and portion control.
* Demonstrate knowledge and assure maintenance of modified diets as instructed.
* Use accepted techniques in handling, preparation, and serving food to clients and employees.
* Receive, inspect, and properly store all supplies entering Food Service Department.
* Monitor all kitchen equipment and appliances for malfunctions and proper temperatures. Report same to management.
* Demonstrate proper use and storage of equipment and maintain a clean environment, including utensils, floors, equipment, etc.
* Maintain a safe working environment by following all safety procedures, including the use of Standard Precautions, proper storage and use of chemicals, and properly securing the Food Service area. Also, demonstrate knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheets.
* Complete all requested forms pertaining to Food Service area.
* Cleans, maintains, and sanitizes all pots, pans, trash containers, cooking utensils, floor, shelves, coolers, freezers, store rooms, back dock, dining room, service area, and equipment to exceed any, and all, Health Department and weekly inspections.
* Serves each meal to clients with a caring and professional attitude and displays service excellence. Qualifications

Requirements:

Education and experience equivalent to a High School Diploma/GED required.

Must have prior food service experience, preferably in healthcare setting.
