Person Memorial Hospital
Objective/Summary:
The goal of this team member is to provide exceptional patient care by assisting in the delivery
of medical care with compassion, efficiency, and accuracy.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Triage incoming patients; perform CPR and other emergency measures, if necessary
2. Escort patients to exam rooms; take histories and vital signs; prepare patients for
examination
3. Assist providers in examination and treatment of patients, minor surgeries, and
physicals
4. Stock and set up exam rooms with necessary equipment and supplies
5. Clean and sterilize instruments
6. Process referral and prior authorization requests in accordance with company protocol
7. Utilize electronic medical software to record patient information in compliance with
HIPAA/confidentiality guidelines
8. Dispense medication as directed by providers
9. Collect and process lab specimens
10. Perform glucose monitoring
11. Provide wound care and perform suture removal as directed by provider
12. Communicate with patient, pharmacy, and physician inquiries within the scope of
practice; involve provider as needed
13. Perform accurate and timely input of data into EMR and Clockwise
14. Prepare patients for radiological procedures and take x-rays following established
procedures for patient care and safety
15. Protect patients, staff, and self from radiation exposure by practicing sound procedures
which meet or exceed industry standards
16. Obtain quality diagnostic radiographs as requested by providers and maintain a repeat
rate of 2% or less
17. Develop and process radiological film
18. Log completed radiological procedures, completing paperwork accurately and on time
and identifying and filing reports as required
19. Ensure that all radiological equipment is in good working condition and in compliance
with applicable laws and regulations, immediately reporting any equipment malfunction
to the Clinical Coordinator
Job Requirements
Educational Duties and Responsibilities
Current AART x-ray certification
Successful completion of training as a medical assistant
Technology proficiency: Ability to use practice management and EMR software with confidence
and to utilize online lab programs accurately and independently
