Accounting Analyst - Inventory Accounting Operations

The Accounting Analyst develops, implements, and conducts projects and analysis, as assigned, to improve accuracy and reporting related to accounting and finance responsibilities as well as to make recommendations to management on how to improve accuracy

Primary Responsibilities:

* Participates in Inventory Management tasks, projects and programs:
* Performs analytical work/research around inventory activity and results
* Identifies and resolves problems
* Evaluates results against expectations and operational needs, able to report out and draw conclusions from data analysis
* Provides timely delivery of financial information to appropriate Company Management that accurately measures financial results and enhances decision making as well as proposes ways to improve processes, improve inventory accuracy, reduce shrinkage and improve inventory position.
* Assists with Inventory Management functions and tasks as assigned:
* Maintain financial integrity by analyzing inventory problems, processing adjustments, creating JEs and providing reporting.
* Provides value added analysis to External Partners, Asset Protection, Merchandising, Stores, Finance and Operations on Inventory related issues

Core Competencies & Accomplishments:

* Analytical and conceptual skills
* Familiarity with data mining and Lean Tools
* Oral and written communication skills
* Demonstrated focus on process improvement
* Strong understanding of Inventory and Retail method of accounting
* Experience in analytical thinking, problem solving, and process improvements
* Ability to work independently without supervision and shifting and dynamic responsibilities.

Education:

Bachelors degree in accounting related field or equivalent business experience AND four (4) years of progressively responsible general accounting, inventory, and analytical experience with exposure to multiple aspects of these functions.
