Students will be assigned an exciting project that provides a basis for learning new technologies, developing methods to address toxicologically-relevant concerns or current novel needs in bioanalytical evaluation, and/or analyzing literature/data to facilitate the generation of science-driven decisions for specific development programs. This year, four projects are offered in the specialized laboratories and disciplines of immuno- and molecular toxicology, investigative toxicology, and nonclinical disposition and bioanalysis. Related and fully virtual internship projects will be available in these areas if in-person learning opportunities are limited this summer due to the current COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition, students will be mentored in development of critical thinking, risk/benefit assessment, multitasking capabilities, scientific writing and presentation skills, and building collaborative relationships. During the 10week internship, students will have opportunities to meet with numerous NCR&D team members from multiple departments including nonclinical safety, pharmaceutical candidate optimization, veterinary sciences, and toxicology specialty departments, as well as members of BMS crossfunctional groups (e.g., Discovery, Pharmaceutical Development), to explore the various roles and responsibilities that are integrated to bring pharmaceuticals through development.

BMS provides a competitive salary. In addition (and dependent on whether in-person learning opportunities are available due to the current pandemic), chosen candidates located more than 50 miles from the project-specified central New Jersey area location will receive a stipend to cover commuting and housing costs.

For consideration, please submit application by Friday, March 5, 2021.
