Job Description
* Route orders daily in compliance with the transportation route guide; ensuring timely execution to meet the requested ship date and secure carrier capacity ahead of the competition.
* Operate the Transportation Management System (TMS) to route orders, track carrier performance and troubleshoot any loads that may be at risk of missing requested arrival date.
* Ensure all new orders comply with PepsiCo guidelines on weight and method of shipment.
* Review all TMS Daily Solution Reports for Load Tender Accuracy.
* Schedule appointments in WMS on all loads; working with the campus manager, shipping manager, and third party facility manager on dock capacity scheduling.
* Review open order reports and collaborate with site performance resource to ensure all loads are scheduled in a timely manner to make request ship date.
* Conduct daily verification to ensure all loads are scheduled correctly and in all systems TMS, SAP, and WMS.
* Work with drop carriers to maintain trailer pool.
* Actively participate in sites period transportation and service review meetings with Regional Transportation Manager (RTM).
* Collaborate with customer supply chain teams to troubleshoot and resolve customer service issues related to transportation and scheduling.
* Coordinate with all stakeholders to schedule and ensure all orders are shipped by period end.
* Maintain reason code input within SAP for all CPU and LTL orders that deliver past RDD.
* Maintain tracking number input within SAP for LTL and Parcel orders.
* Review previous days dock schedule and past due report to reschedule loads that did not ship on-time.
* Advise the shipping office of any special handling and shipping requirements.
* Accountable for Sarbanes Oxley compliance on SAP ZMB5T (Display Stock in Transit) report. Research and provide resolution for aging stock in transit.
* Will be cross-trained to support other distribution center functions and other distribution centers coordinator positions, within the local region.
* All other duties as assigned by Distribution Center Manager.
Qualifications/Requirements
* Bachelors Degree preferred but not required
* Two or more years of experience in transportation operations
* Demonstrate understanding of logistics supply chain systems
* Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and a Warehouse Management System, (TMS- Transportation Management System experience a plus)
* Must work and participate effectively in a team environment
* Must possess strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and maintain relationships with carriers, customers (both external and internal) and distribution operations
* Timely and effective verbal and written communications
* Highly self-motivated with excellent prioritization and organizational skills
* Ability to communicate effectively, internally and externally, to all levels of management
* Overtime required as dictated by business needs
