This position is part of our Signal & Power Solutions (S&PS) segment, Electrical Distribution Systems (EDS) business unit.

Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Resident Product Design Engineer located in Warren, MI.

As a Resident Product Design Engineer for Signal and Power Solutions, your primary role includes; customer support with Design and vehicle integration of wiring systems, including development of design alternatives, design optimization, Product validation, and build/launch support (both prototype and production).

Responsibilities and Duties:

* Customer Facing Product Engineering Support.
* Support Vehicle Integration Meeting.
* Develop Alternate Design Proposals to drive GM designs toward target pricing.
* Develop Alternate Design Proposals to enable efficient Aptiv manufacturing.
* Support Harness Validation activities, including development of project specific DVP&R plans.
* Support both Prototype build and Production Launch build events.
* Ensure compliance with customer requirements.

Need to Haves (Basic Qualifications):

* Bachelors Degree in Engineering Degree or equivalent STEM Major
* Proficient Microsoft Office Skills.
* 3+ years of Wiring Harness OR automotive Engineering experience.
* Minimum 1 year Design release (DRE) experience.

Nice to Haves (Preferred Qualifications):

* Bachelors degree in Electrical or Mechanical.
* Prefer prior DRE experience at GM, including knowledge of GM business processes (ECR/PRTS).
* Low or High voltage experience.
* Strong communication and organizational skills.
