Job Description

Person will be responsible for writing and sustaining software installed on Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) control systems using Siemens TIA Portal and Step 7 development environments as well as Microsoft Visual Studio development environments.  When needed they will answer support calls from the field, research problems, and interface with other engineering groups to resolve problems or design new systems. Other duties include training field personnel, meeting with customers and operations personnel to review requirements, evaluate control software needs, and provided recommended actions to address stated requirements.   Minimum 3 years of experience in similar roles with a college degree or military training suitable to the role as well as Siemens and Microsoft training on the software used in this position.  Periodic travel will be required for field trials or to work on problems that cannot be solved by service technicians.

Experience using Siemens development environment (TIA Portal / STEP 7).
Developed on Siemens 300, 1200, and 1500 model PLCs.  Experience with all Siemens supported  programming languages including Siemens STL.
Experienced in software development for Siemens SIMATIC HMIs or similar HMI systems.
Built control networks using Profibus DP/PA, MODBUS, and TCP/IP.
Experience interfacing with analog pressure sensors.
Basic knowledge of flow metering technologies.
Experience writing controls for electric and hydraulic actuators for valves and/or chokes.
Installation, deployment, and support of Windows Embedded PCs / Workstations.
Basic knowledge of controls in explosive / potentially explosive environments.
Strong communications skills – verbal and written.
Good organizer and ability to prioritize tasks with minimal management direction.
Ability to read electrical schematics.
Ability use multi-meter / signal generators as needed to diagnose signal problems.
Write and maintain project plans and timelines.
Write Scope of Supply proposals as needed to support sales opportunities.
Work with other engineering teams as needed to price development and manufacture new controls products.
Experience using Windows Visual Studio to develop applications and HMIs used for controls and automation.
