The position of Staff Electrical Engineer reports to the Hematology R&D Hardware Manager in the Hematology Business Unit. The Staff Electrical Engineering associate will support the successful execution of electrical engineering design projects for both new product development and on-market sustaining engineering activities to ensure reliable product designs. This role works cooperatively within the electrical engineering team of 8 associates and collaborates with other engineering disciplines, including systems, mechanical, and software engineering.

In this role, you will:

* Support and lead hardware research, development, and sustaining projects from an electrical prospective (analog / digital circuits and FPGA)
* Ensures robust/reliable product design, verification and validation of initial and subsequent design changes making sure that all FDA/ISO/EN and other related requirements are consistently met.
* Manage design execution of sophisticated products using a strong systems mindset including hardware, software, fluidics, reagents, biologics, leading closure of all technical gaps throughout ideation and development life cycle
* Create and present technical reports on projects to peers and management.
* Create Design of Experiments (DOE) and test reports, including summarizing results, drawing conclusions from test results and proposing recommendations

The essential requirements include:

* Bachelor degree in electrical engineering, MS or PhD preferred and 9+ years of relevant industry product development experience
* Technical ability to understand architecture, system interactions and interfaces of a complex system (reagents, hardware, and software) to drive effective implementation of electrical component designs
* Crafting and maintaining electrical designs that align with product requirements as well ability to convert design concepts to prototypes for performance evaluation
* Direct participation in technical design reviews and FMEAs to identify critical design factors and risks that impact product performance
* Strong ability to write electrical requirements and specifications both for internal designs and external contractors
* Proven capability to troubleshoot, develop, or improve electrical and electromechanical systems using analytical and statistical methods.

Other relevant skills/experience include:

* VHDL or Verilog experience.
* Experience with instrumentation design and integration, including mechanical, fluid handling, thermal systems, and materials specifications a plus
