Palo Verde Behavioral Health (PVBH) is a 84 bed private psychiatric facility providing inpatient and intensive outpatient psychiatric services through treatment programs tailored to our patients needs for the purpose of creating positive outcomes. PVBH will build on the excellent skills of our current Psychiatrists, licensed registered nurses, clinical social workers and licensed professional counselors to support these programs.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Admissions Evaluator is the entry way for patients and referral sources for evaluation and admissions. The evaluator provides telephonic and in-person risk assessment. The evaluator drives the initial contact with referral sources and potential patients, coordinates the referral and admissions process, determines appropriate level of care, facilitates the admission process and obtains and ensures prior-authorization is complete. The Admissions evaluator consults for final disposition with the admitting psychiatrist.

The Admissions Evaluator is also responsible for conducting evaluations for the Tucson Medical Center and documenting the evaluation in the EPIC electronic records system.

The Admissions evaluator conducts evaluations and admissions for the Intensive Outpatient Program also referred to as IOP. The evaluator is responsible for coordinating a start date with the Director of IOP as well as completing the prior authorization.

Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Staff must demonstrate knowledge and skill in provision of services to various populations including children, adolescents, adults, older adults and dually diagnosed patients in an inpatient and partial hospital setting.

Education: Master's Degree in Counseling, Psychology or Human Services field, licensed RN or Masters in Social Work.

Experience: Prior intake, assessment, admission and crisis intervention experience with a psychiatric mental health population, preferably in an inpatient setting.

Licensure/Certification Required: RN, LMSW, LPC or LISAC

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION:

* Knowledge of crisis intervention, triage and risk assessment, psychiatric diagnoses, chemical dependency, age specific growth and development, crisis and behavior management.
* Ability to communicate verbally, telephonically and in writing.
* Ability to use computer systems and electronic records
* Must be able to obtain and maintain an Arizona Class 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Physical agility to manage patients. Push, pull and lift up to 40 pounds. Intermittent sitting, standing, walking, bending and stooping. Drug and alcohol free as evidenced by negative results of post-offer, pre-employment urine drug screen.
