In this role, you will consult on, design, deliver, and maintain Professional Mastery curriculum. This position also collaborates in the development of the New Hire Experience Pillar and business segment learning agendas. In addition, the Sales Enablement team is accountable for the design and delivery of annual National Sales Conferences.
As an owner of the Professional Mastery Pillar, you are instrumental in preparing the field to effectively and efficiently drive profitable growth. The learning and development is focused around four key competencies referred to as TOPS: Tools, Operating Routines, Product Knowledge and Sales Acumen.
The Executive Learning & Performance Consultant is required to collaborate and consult with business leaders to ensure that the curriculum is delivering the intended outcome. This role also requires collaboration with the Learning Solutions Team for the curriculum design, leveraging the application of adult learning principles. The learning delivery and session facilitation is essential to ensure full engagement of the intended audience.
The preferred locations for this role are Hartford and Charlotte. Consideration will be given to working from other locations including working remotely for the ideal candidate. The role requires 25-50% travel.
Responsibilities:
* Take accountability of the Professional Mastery/advanced learning journey: Consult, Design, Deliver and continuously enhance to effectively drive profitable growth
* Retain a strong understanding of business strategy, goals, and opportunities to ensure training aligns with business objectives.
* Design, develop and deliver learning and development programs to respond to key segment initiatives related to the Onboarding, Professional Mastery and Leadership Legacy pillars.
* Use an Engagement Plan framework for segment initiatives, consulting with leaders on learning objectives and recommending design and delivery options.
* Leverage best practices of field subject matter experts to design and deliver learning and development solutions, including the leveraging advisory councils.
* Assess the impact of deliverables, communicate with business leads on the measurement results, and determine if follow-up is needed to achieve the desired outcomes.
* Develop and deliver performance solutions that will address any deficiencies to improve training effectiveness.
* Accountable for the administrative needs of the learning environment, including general hotel and training room accommodations.
Qualifications:
* 5+ years of experience in Group Benefits and at least 3 years with The Hartford (internal candidates only)
* Deep business acumen
* Working knowledge of sales practices and methodologies with a proven ability to coach
* Strong informal or formal leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to coach, mentor and develop sales reps & underwriters
* Demonstrated influencing skills with an ability to work effectively with all levels of leadership and individual styles
* Demonstrated presentation and facilitation and delivery skills
* Strong ability to motivate and persuade others
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to consult
* Strong ability to impart information in a clear and concise manner
* Ability to effectively prioritize and juggle multiple priorities
* Ability to work in a fast-changing environment and lead change
* Experience in the design and delivery of various learning methodologies a plus
* Effective teamwork and collaboration skills
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
* Up to 50% travel may be required.
