Job Summary

Oversees all aspects of the maintenance department, production lines and affiliated equipment, building and grounds. Schedule work and manpower to meet production demands., maintain the preventative maintenance system and work toward meeting or exceeding the plants safety and uptime goals. Control maintenance expenses by monitoring overtime and parts expenses weekly.

Establish and maintain mechanical integrity and equipment reliability programs to ensure employee safety provide environmental security and maximize the plants availability, product quality, and cost effectiveness. Other primary duties include: ownership of the plants PM/PdM activities; leadership of equipment performance tracking and repair/improvement prioritization; technical guidance and coaching of mechanical craftsmen; and engineering support of maintenance and capital projects.

Position Responsibilities

* Plan and schedule work force efficiently for utilization of employees.
* Provide support for and CPS activities, including DDS, DMS's, AMD

* Help coach and develop team members

* Help in building a healthy culture in the business unit

* Manage maintenance employees performance in accordance with plant goals in safety, quality, cost, customer service, and culture

* Manage all machine maintenance personnel including daily work schedules, vacations, sick days, etc.

* Manage all required maintenance training and certification programs

* Maintain excellent troubleshooting skills in both mechanical and electrical

* Able to lead and coach on various troubleshooting techniques, both electrical and mechanical in nature

* Continuously use a high degree of interpersonal skills including the ability to work with all types of people

* Provide superior customer service for plant employees

* Help to manage department CMMS system, including building reliability plans, PMs, PM audits, equipment, purchase orders, work orders, work order histories, and employee time

* Manage and supervise all OSHA compliance training for maintenance and stationary departments

* Perform duties as plant Safety Management Expert (SME) for Hot Works Program, Fall Protection Program and Confined Space Program. Schedule all training and refresher training for these programs.

* Emergency Response Team Member responsible for the upkeep of the program and the regular testing and drilling with team members

* Ability to work off shifts as needed, including evenings and weekends.

* Other duties and responsibilities as assigned or required

Position Qualifications

* BS Degree preferred
* 3+ years maintenance supervisory or leadership experience, food manufacturing experience preferred.

* Basic supervisory skills

* Must be results oriented with strong people skills

* Ability to be flexible and adapt to all circumstances

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, and feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; taste and smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee will be exposed to a noisy environment that varies from hot to cold in temperature.
