The purpose of the BSS GPO is to strengthen controls and transparency of the Balance Sheet by enhancing the quality of the account reconciliation process with strong centralized governance and standardization of the substantiation process, performed in strategic sites, while leveraging best in class automated tools. The individual who fulfills this position will be expected to lead initiatives for the BSS commitments related to the Core Capabilities.
The Balance Sheet Substantiation Global Process Owners (BSS GPO) group provides accounting guidance, control, support and governance for all Citi business units related to reconciliation and substantiation processes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Working with Senior Leadership across the organization to understand concerns and communicate those concerns.
* Manage the scope and expectations to ensure remediation efforts and risk assessment are completed both inside and outside of core team.
* Partner with technology to deliver the strategic technology solutions needed to execute on the commitments
* Leading a team of both directs and non-directs to execute on the deliverables
* Lead the change needed to bring the processes forward with an eye for risk
* Providing updates to Senior Leadership and escalating timely if progress in hindered
* Understand current processes and technology opportunities to ensure alignment with the strategic vision
* Ability to identify potential accounting issue and follow it through the adjustments as needed
Qualifications:
* Experience in Banking or Financial Services industry preferred
* Bachelors degree is required
* Candidate will have 10+ years of experience with a degree from accredited institution, a proven track record for success.
* Experience with reconciliations and project management is preferred.
* Audit experience is preferred but not required.
* Must be a self-starter, this is a fast pace environment.
* Candidate should be willing to travel globally as needed.
