Job Description

This position is a part of Citis Recovery and Resolution Planning (RRP) team within the Capital Planning organization of Citi Treasury. The team supports a range of high-profile regulatory initiatives central to the safety and soundness of the firm. These regulatory programs predominantly include Resolution and Recovery Planning as well as any other strategic regulatory initiatives.

Citis Recovery and Resolution Planning team is responsible for the development and maintenance of Recovery and Resolution plans for submission to regulators, while at the same time, focusing on industry and Citi-wide strategic issues. A significant component of this work is to evaluate and develop strategies to:

* Address impediments to an orderly resolution
* Enhance Citis recovery and resolution planning capabilities
* Maximize business opportunities while minimizing capital and structural inefficiencies.

This position will have a strong focus on the capital planning aspects of Recovery and Resolution planning, particularly as it relates to remediation efforts to improve the capabilities of Resolution Capital Adequacy and Positioning (RCAP) and Resolution Capital Execution Needs (RCEN). This role will require a strong analytical background and an ability to quickly understand and articulate the detailed components of the RCAP/RCEN calculation methodology, as well as the inner workings of the technological systems leveraged in the production of these metrics, the upstream inputs into the calculation, and the relevant impacts to the broader resolution financials. Strong communication skills are critical, as well as an ability to partner with key constituents, such as external consultants, technology, liquidity and GPO, in order to facilitate the successful execution and implementation of these remediation initiatives.

Communicating complex ideas through the development of concise presentations to senior management and regulators is also critical. The candidate will have a unique opportunity to develop a level of subject matter expertise, play an integral role in one of Citis key strategic priorities, and have significant exposure to senior management. The candidate will be given the opportunity to gain a broad understanding of many key facets of Citi: including its legal structure; product offerings; business franchises; functional teams; balance sheet and liquidity management protocols; countries of operations; and the interaction of these various facets.

While this is a Finance position, the RRP team has significant engagement with operations and technology; financial and risk reporting, businesses (Institutional Clients Group and Global Consumer Bank), jurisdictional legal regimes and bankruptcy laws; financial market utilities; and the regulatory considerations of local jurisdictions in which Citi operates. The candidate will support these efforts by leveraging their analytical skills to better articulate and present the various financial assumptions and outputs supporting Citi's regulatory strategies and capabilities.

Key Responsibilities include:

* Partnering closely with technology and external consultants to ensure the successful execution and implementation of RCAP/RCEN remediation efforts related to one of the key strategic priorities of the firm;
* Developing a level of subject matter expertise related to RCAP/RCEN;
* Assist in the development of the project plan related to these remediation initiatives, and participate in the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure successful implementation;
* Manage projects involving a wide range of functional partners, against tight project timelines and deliverable schedules;
* Lead strategic projects and support a wide range of analytical presentations that help decide and support Citi's global regulatory strategies;
* Ensure Citis RRP activities are conducted through existing governance structures;
* Draft regulatory and executive communications and messaging.

Qualifications:

* Robust problem solving and analytical skills, with diligence and superior attention to detail to ensure internal governance standards are met sufficient to withstand scrutiny of senior executives, Regulators and Internal Audit;
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal;
* Strong project management skills;
* Strong partnership and relationship building skills;
* Significant intellectual curiosity and desire to learn how Citis conducts its activities, often at the most granular level, in order to develop subject matter expertise;
* Ability to discern ambiguous instructions, regulator requests or guidance, and recommend appropriate course of action;
* Ability to influence and build strong relationships with people at varying levels across the organization;
* Must be a team player while also demonstrating an ability to work independently in a fast-paced and matrixed environment while multitasking and meeting strict deadlines;
* Direct experience in implementing technological projects is preferred;
* 3-5+ years+ of relevant work experience is preferred;
* Bachelors degree in an analytical field such as economics, finance or accounting is preferred.
