Unit Secretary, Nurse Technician, Unit Sec/Tech, Ambulatory, Fort Wayne, Indiana, Nursing Students, CNA

Schedule: Benefit eligible, 32 hours per week, days

Under the immediate supervision of the Ambulatory Team Specialist or other designated management and the clinical leadership of a Registerd Nurse, provides clerical services to meet the needs of the nursing unit and assists with direct patient care.

Minimal Acceptable Job Qualifications

Licensure: Must obtain and maintain;

* BCLS within 60 days of hire
* NICHE- GPCA certificate within 1 year of hire

Experience: Prefer 1 year of unit secretary and/or tech experience.

Education: Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.

Other: Demonstrates a basic understanding of the role of a Unit Secretary/Technician in relationship with other surgical services Team Members.

Requires a basic understanding of the related behaviors, needs, and comfort measures appropriate to the age (including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric) and diagnosis of the patient served in order to support the provision of an individualized multidisciplinary plan of care.

Demonstrates well-developed interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) necessary to interact effectively with all internal and external customers.
