Job Description

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

These positions work in all departments of this pork processing facility, performing preventative maintenance repairing equipment used in production such as conveyor lines, trolley systems, Rendering machinery, and hydraulic systems. Other duties may include welding, basic electrical work, and working with pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, and reaching are required in all areas. These positions work in a cold, damp or hot and humid environment.

REQUIRMENTS:

MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK 2ND/3RD SHIFTS.

High School Diploma or GED preferred. 1 Year On-The-Job Training.

Application and /or resume must show related work experience and/or training in these areas : Must have 1 years experience and or education in at least two of the following General Maintenance related areas; Mechanical troubleshooting, Electrical/Electronic troubleshooting, Hydraulic troubleshooting, PLC troubleshooting and Navigation, Weld ing/Fabrication, AC/DC Control Wiring, Motor Control, 3 Phase Wiring, Plumbing, Conveyor Maintenance, Hydraulics, Pneumatic systems.

Must be available to work any department, weekends, holidays and overtime.

Must be capable of communicating well both verbally and in writing with all levels of team members from hourly to upper management, as well as government officials.

Must be able to read and understand manuals, execute and document work completed on scheduling sheet.

Must be able to successfully complete computer-based training modules and understand training manuals.

Must be willing and able to lift up to 60 plus pounds as necessary.

Must be willing and able to work in confined space and working at heights above normal work area; use of ladders, lifts, and scaffolds; as well as any other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Candidates hired into this position will be expected to stay on track with their training until he/she reaches level 7.

Preference given to internal qualified candidates currently employed at this facility followed by candidates from other Tyson facilities then external candidates.
