FUNCTION OVERVIEW:
The Industrial Engineering Manager is responsible to provide support, guidance, and training to plant Industrial Engineering and Workplace Organization (WO) teams. Will interact with Finance, Central Manufacturing Engineering (CME), New Product Introduction (NPI) groups, and the Whirlpool World Class Manufacturing (WCM) teams. Reports directly to the Senior Manager Industrial Engineering and Workplace Organization, World Class Manufacturing, Operations Excellence.
This position will interact with manufacturing senior management in Amana Iowa, Cleveland Tennessee and Tulsa Oklahoma plants and at corporate offices, to support development of hourly and salary staffing plans, oversee actions to achieve productivity objectives and control labor costs, and provide lean training and coaching.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
* This position will support multiple plants and activities, including, but not limited to
* Standard Costs
* Labor Productivity and Control
* Work Standards, Standard Work & Work Balancing
* Process Layouts / Flow
* Communications / Change Management
* Production Strategies, Capacity Planning / Tracking
* Integration of Industrial Engineering with WCM, especially Workplace Organization (WO) and Logistics and Customer Service (LCS)
* Workplace Organization (WO) projects, methodology and expansion
* Industrial Engineering Training and Development
* New Product Introduction, Including Studies, Labor and Standard Cost Targets, and Alignment with Whirlpool Product Development (WPD) system
* WorkPlace Integration (WPI) projects
* Ability to travel to Amana Iowa, Cleveland Tennessee, and Tulsa Oklahoma plants on a regular basis
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering or Technology
* 5+ years experience in manufacturing industrial engineering and process development, and/or project management
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
* Masters in Engineering or MBA
* World Class Manufacturing (WCM)
* Proplanner Manufacturing Data Management for the Product Lifecycle software (PLM-MDM)
* Modular Arrangement of Predetermined Time Standards (MODAPTS)
* Lean Manufacturing
* Workplace Organization (WO)
* Logistics Customer Service (LCS)
