Department Overview
Security Operations Center which provides around the clock coverage for multiple customers utilizing differing security platforms such as SIEMs, EDR products, and cloud monitoring solutions.
Job Description
* The SOC Analyst III is a senior level position within the Security Operations Center and provides cyber security monitoring leadership.
* The SOC Analyst III is responsible for providing effective security monitoring guidance and training covering topics such as triage, investigation, communication, and reporting.
* On occasion, the SOC Analyst III will review and process alerts from various security tools focusing on alerts of a malicious nature.
* The SOC Analyst III will be on the fore front of working with the most recent security issues, exploits, attacks, and other nefarious activity.
* The SOC Analyst III will conduct in depth analysis of alerts generated by differing data sources including SIEMs, EDR solutions, and cloud-based security offerings. They will provide mentorship on complex investigations and assist with determining follow on actions. They will initiate communications to customers based on investigative findings. The SOC Analyst III will implement tuning actions for alerts.
* The SOC Analyst III will perform threat hunting and investigations into potential threats based on log data and provide results of analysis to management. They will provide analysis and trending of security log data from a wide range of security devices. They will conduct team training to increase the knowledge level of the entire team.
* Strong knowledge of networking concepts (Devices/IP Addresses/Ports and Protocols)
* Strong knowledge of computer security concepts (Virus, Malware, Trojan)
* Hands on experience with operating systems (Windows and/or Linux and/or MacOS)
Basic Requirements
* 3+ years of cybersecurity experience
* Strong knowledge of networking concepts (Devices/IP Addresses/Ports and Protocols)
* Strong knowledge of computer security concepts (Virus, Malware, Trojan)
* Hands on experience with operating systems (Windows and/or Linux and/or MacOS)
