About USIG Shared Services:
Located in Tonawanda, New York, USIG Accounting Shared Services provides financial services for a variety of businesses within the United States of America. The group functions as a primary resource to United States Industrial Gases and Global Supply Systems. USIG Shared Services consists of Accounting Standards/Sarbanes Oxley, Export Compliance, Accounts Payable, Business Reporting, Capital Accounting, General Accounting, Payroll and Benefits Accounting, Customer Financial Services, and Financial Report and Analysis.
Responsibilities:
* Prepare and provide analysis on general ledger account reconciliations
* Administering the Financial Authorization System (FAS), a formal system that houses authorization limits for employees. It identifies individuals who can authorize expenditures, the types of expenditures, and limits associated with each level of authorization.
* Provide accounting support to Linde proposal projects including but not limited to setting up projects, tracking project costs, month end project cost billing and clearing and proposal cost transfers.
* Handling and processing monthly remittance to unions. Requires a high attention to detail to ensure continual compliance with collective bargaining agreements.
* Lead coordinator for union third party audits.
* Work with respective region controllers to post monthly capital labor entries
* Developing a strong working relationship with the corporate payroll and benefits teams, as well as union representatives
* Working with internal and external contacts to quickly resolve discrepancies
* This position may provide functional advice or training to less-experienced accounting positions.
* Other general accounting duties, as necessary
Qualifications
Qualifications:
* Bachelors degree in Accounting, or an equivalent Masters degree, is required
* 2-4 years relevant accounting experience
* Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and an ability to prioritize tasks and meet required deadlines
* Excellent positive professional demeanor with emphasis on interpersonal skills and written/verbal communication skills
* Teamwork and collaboration skills
* Ability to work extended hours at month end to meet deadlines
