Description
JACOBS is seeking a Telephony Repair Tech in Chantilly, VA. Duties will include:
* Responsiblefor repairing, testing and deploying a wide variety of phones and telephonydevices in support of a global telecommunications network
* Required to make lowest repairable unit (LRU) repairsfor phone and associated peripheral devices such as headsets and baseunits.
* Responsible for documenting their actions in a DatabaseManagement System, which also serves as knowledge base used as a reference forresearching issues
* Theemployee can make independent decisions that deal with the daily schedule andwork to be accomplished. Issues requiring monetary approval have to go up thereporting chain
* Installs,maintains, manages and/or repairs carrier systems (WANs) and their constituentcomponents
* Installs,maintains, manages and/or repairs Local Area Networks (LANs) and theirconstituent components (workstations, servers, printers, associated cabling,etc.)
* Providessupport for, and maintenance of, applications software
* Providescommunications security guidance and support
* Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
* Active TS/SCI with polygraph required
* High school diploma or equivalent is required
* Requires a minimum of three full years of experience specific to the skill ans must be reflected
* Must be able to interface with individuals atall levels of the organization both verbally and in writing
* Proficiency in the use of MS Office productsuite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, SharePoint)
* Must pay attention to detail, provide goodcustomer service and remain alert at all times
* Prior experience with Cat5, Cat6, Fiber,Network Switches, and patch panels
* Telecommunications extensive knowledge on avariety of telecommunications platforms and IT systems
* Installations demonstrated high-levelproficiency in leading and performing installations, modifications, andupgrades of highly specialized equipment and systems
* Troubleshooting can test, identify, andresolve the most difficult equipment and system problems
* Repairing repairmachines or systems using the needed tools
* Equipment Selection determining the kind oftools and equipment needed to do a job
* Musthave valid drivers license
* Mustbe willing to dispatch from building to building in all weather conditions
* Theemployee can make independent decisions that deal with the daily schedule andwork to be accomplished
* The employee is notinvolved with personnel or compensation decisions
* Knowledge of principles and processes for providingcustomer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment,meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customersatisfaction
* Proficient in many facets of information technology requirements. Thecandidate should possess general business knowledge and soft-skills allowingthem to be adaptable in a wide array of work environments. The candidate shouldhave the willingness to participate in these type of activities when calledupon to do so

Work Environment:
General Office environment. The work environment is fast-paced andsometimes involves extreme deadline pressures. The nature of the work requiresa high degree of teamwork and cooperation with other members of the staff aswell as individuals across the Company and Customers.
Physical Requirements:
Employees may experience extended periods of standing,walking, climbing, bending, crouching, and lifting light to moderately heavyobjects and equipment. Use of ladders or scaffolding may be required with theuse of required safety equipment. Employees may be exposed to potential healthhazards.
Equipment and Machines:
General office equipment including PC/laptop, Fax, Copiers,Shredder, Printers, Telephone, and other miscellaneous office equipment.
Attendance:
Attendance is critical at all times. Must be able to work a40-hour workweek, normally Monday through Friday. However, times and days mayvary depending on business requirements. Needs to be available to work overtimeduring critical peaks and be available to meet last minute requests forovertime should the situation occur.
