Our expertise is the design and manufacture of communications-based specialty products engineered components and subsystems for demanding military, space, commercial aerospace/industrial, and telecom infrastructure applications where function and reliability are crucial.
To be the primary engineering resource on the components used in the manufacturing process as well as provide Logistic Support Analysis (LSA), reliability analysis, maintainability (level of repair) analysis, human factors analysis, system safety, design supportability, and support cost risk management.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Write technical documents including procedures, reports and other items.
* Review Bill of Materials (BOMs) for obsolescence, hazardous substances and technical issues.
* Provide recommendations for alternate parts or solutions.
* Assume a proactive role in ensuring that components are available, high quality, reliable, and cost effective.
* Work with design engineering to standardize component selection.
* Interface with purchasing and suppliers regarding part requirements and alternate parts.
* Prepare reliability and maintainability predictions. Determine MTBF of critical subassemblies and systems.
* Coordinate PZ response to industry initiatives and activities such as RoHS and GIDEP.
* Review designs and make recommendations relating to reliability, maintainability, safety and human factors.
* Develop presentation material to present to customers on reliability predictions and analysis.
* Work with a variety of departments to solve component problems and develop standards and practices to avoid component problems.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
* High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel).
* High level of accuracy, organization and attention to detail are required.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills a must.
* Ability to work with cross-functional teams to evaluate and recommend components and to assist quality assurance in obtaining failure analysis information.
* Knowledge of wide range of electronic and mechanical components.
* Must be able to identify and promote the use of preferred components.
* Highly motivated, capable of self-direction.

Education and/or Experience:
* A bachelors degree from an accredited college or university required and 5 + years of relevant experience.
* Five or more years of experience in one of the following areas supplier quality assurance, communication systems or component supply industry.
* Experience working with a wide variety of electronic components.
* Must be a US person (US Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder)

WORK SCHEDULES:
* Normal workdays are Monday through Friday, 8-hour days OR a 9/80 schedule (9 hour days) / 80 hour alternate schedule with every other Friday off; other alternate schedules may also be available
* Lunch period is one hour per day, unpaid
* Occasional domestic and international travel may be required
