Please review the following job description:

The Senior Analyst will be responsible for supporting general accounting, reporting and reconciliation review for assigned Controllers, LOBs or Functions.

The analyst should ensure all accounting activity is completed in compliance with GAAP and look for ways to efficiently complete all work while minimizing risk.

The analyst will be required to record accounting transactions for specific assigned areas in accordance with GAAP.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Based on established procedures and guidelines, accurately generate accounting transactions.
* Review and approved assigned transactions ensuring supporting documentation is accurate and complete.
* Responsible for timely resolution of mortgage origination and servicing accounting issues.
* Ensure accounting transactions are in compliance with relevant laws and regulations, maintaining the integrity of financial data.
* Assist in preparation of variance analysis as assigned.
* Assist the LOBs as needed with questions regarding Accounting Operations.
* Understand the systems and related processes and how they impact accounting and reconciliation of the accounts under their responsibility.
* Ensure procedures are appropriate and recommend changes as needed.
* Assist in internal and external audits as requested.
* May be required to routinely perform various duties of team in order to accomplish department goals.

Required Skills:

* Associate degree in accounting or equivalent education and related training.
* 2-4 years accounting experience, i.e., accounts receivable & payable, aging reports, GAAP, profit & loss, reconciliation.
* Residential Mortgage banking experience.
* Good interpersonal skills.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
* Ability to work independently and as a productive member of a team.
* Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office products, with an emphasis in spreadsheets, word processing and database software.
