This position is part of our Signal & Power Solutions segment, Connection Systems business unit.
Summary (About this Position):
The North America Connection Systems Team has an exciting opportunity for a Controls Engineer in Vienna, OH within injection molding operations. The successful candidate will support injection molding facility in all aspects of the electrical/controls engineering field (i.e. facility, equipment, software, etc.)
Responsibilities:
* Support the plants facilities, equipment and software.
* Ensure the plants raw material delivery systems are adequately managed.
* Support Lean Manufacturing and quality improvements with respect to plant machine and auxiliary equipment Support the plants HMI, picker and conveyor software, as well as, finished goods handling, PPM's and work instruction development for the plant.
* Ensure material handling efficiencies (AGV's).
* Ensure new equipment adheres to specification and timing.
* Lead efforts in automation upgrades in the manufacturing plant.
* Evaluate current processes to identify ways to improve through automation.
* Evaluate, develop, program, install and troubleshoot: PLC, HMI, Robots, vision systems, etc.
* Create various documentation (i.e. user manuals, programming diagrams, network diagrams and electrical drawings).
* Working with launch teams, as well as, OEMs to review issues and develop solutions.
* Ensure compliance with customer specific requirements.
Must Haves (i.e. Basic Qualifications):
* Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
* 1+ years of experience working with electricians on repairs/improvement in a manufacturing environment.
* 1+ years of experience working with vendors on new equipment and processes.
* 1+ years of experience working with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment (i.e. engineering, manufacturing, maintenance, etc.).
Nice to Haves (i.e. Preferred Qualifications):
* Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
* Previous experience as a Controls Engineer in injection molding manufacturing operation.
* Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Project, Excel, Outlook, Skype, Visio, etc.).
* Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization.
* Strong results-orientation and execution characteristics.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills with a strong ability to work with a team.
* Ability to effectively organize, prioritize and accomplish multiple conflicting tasks, make intelligent, timely decisions and solve problems independently.
