An RF Test Technical Support Engineer opportunity currently exists for a technician to join our fast paced microelectronics technology development organization.

The Microelectronics Engineering and Technology (MET) Department designs and manufactures compound semiconductor devices, millimeter/microwave integrated circuits (MMICs) and modules for defense and commercial applications as part of Raytheon Missiles & Defense. In this position, the chosen candidate will support the design, development, prototype demonstration and transition to production of RF MMICs and of RF Transceiver modules. He or she will be a member of a team of multi-disciplined engineers to test prototype designs of RF modules for radar applications, communications equipment and EW systems. The candidate will be responsible for device and module RF test, troubleshooting and fault identification, and responsible for control of test equipment calibration status. The candidate should have an understanding of RF/Microwave electronics and test equipment, be familiar with Network analysis using the Keysight PNA-X, and controlling test equipment as a user of Labview and visual basic software suites. The candidate should have the mechanical ability to create/customize needed test assets by hand if required (drilling/screwing/soldering).

In this role, the successful candidate is expected to have the following attributes:

* Knowledge: A fundamental understanding of microwave propagation. A basic knowledge of analog/DC circuits and digital control. Understands test equipment for microwave measurements, DC Power Measurements and digital/FPGA control.
* Problem Solving: Works to identify first tier failures of devices under test through test, troubleshoot and inspection.
* Discretion: Works with minimal direction. Has the ability to determine and pursue courses of action necessary to obtain desired results.
* Impact: Supports MMIC designers, module designers, packaging engineers, test engineers, and research and development teams to advance emerging technologies resulting in new product / business opportunities for Raytheon.

Required Education, Skills, and Experience:

* Bachelors degree, or combination of education and applicable work experience
* A minimum of 4 years of experience with the fundamentals of RF test parameters such as S-parameters, P1dB, noise figure, Power added Efficiency and TOI
* Can operate RF test stations using NI Labview Software
* Experience with equipment such as Keysight Performance Network Analyzers, spectrum analyzers, noise figure analyzers, and power meters/sensors.
* Experience with Microelectronic assemblies.
* Experience with GaAs/GaN MMICs.
* US Citizenship is required.

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.
