This position within our company's Global Clinical Supply Compliance Operations responsible for ensuring compliant imports/exports aligned with global Customs and other government agency regulations and our company's Global Trade Compliance (GTC) standards. This will include managing a team to develop and implement processes and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable policies, regulations and laws. Position will work with Global Trade Compliance (GTC), Global Clinical Supply (GCS) and our Manufacturing Division Regional Leads, site shipping personnel, Clinical, and Research stakeholders across all global company locations. Position will also interact with Logistics, Clinical Country Operations, and external vendors/shippers. Key challenges will include managing and enabling a team to influence all constituents and stakeholders to following trade policy and procedures and solving shipment specific issues when they arise.

Specifically, this role:

* Manage a team to ensure imports are cleared through Customs and other government agencies including ensuring the appropriate trade permits/licenses are applied and obtained.
* Manage and enable a team to identify opportunities for trade compliance process improvements within GCS, Global Clinical Trial Operations (GCTO), and Discovery, Preclinical and Early Development (DPED).
* Ensure the team is trade compliant with global trade regulations and GTC global standards as applies to all processes, sites and resources.
* Manage a team to support global government agency permit/license requirements including Global Manufacturing Operations (GMO) authorization requirements
* Act as point of contact for Compliance Operations trade compliance and contribute in developing strategic programs in GCS and rest of our research laboratories to ensure compliance with Global import and export regulations.
* Support our Research Laboratories Trade Compliance Ops Global footprint including support to deploy our company's Compliance strategic goals and objectives aligned closely with business objectives.
* Manage a team that maintains and implements trade compliance country level Standard Business Procedures, tools, systems, and training to ensure compliance and to ensure the appropriate processes are properly incorporated into GCS and rest of our Research Laboratories operations.
* Partners with area SMEs within or outside GCS on cross-functional initiatives, as appropriate.
* Manage a team to ensure trade attributes are stored and communicated to brokers and government agencies compliantly and timely with minimal impact to patient supply and research.

Qualifications

* Minimum Bachelors degree in science or pharmaceutical science required
* Minimum of 10 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry of which a minimum of 5 years functional expertise working in trade compliance required
* Minimum of 5 years of experience of managing others required
* Understanding of Customs regulations and other partner government agency trade regulations required
* Prior experience with global trade management systems like SAP GTS or other similar databases, required
* Prior hands-on experience using Microsoft products (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word)
* Good project management skills
* Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Sustained level of high performance while quickly processing high volumes of work
* Awareness of diversity
