Your Role and Responsibilities
Working at IBM as a Firewall Administrator, you will work with a squad of security professionals who provide 24x7x365 coverage, both in seat and on call, which may include work hours on day or night periods, weekdays, weekends and holidays and some on-call availability.

You will be responsible for day-to-day operation of Palo Alto Next-Gen firewalls, including firewall device health and availability management, configuration, rule/policy implementation, service-level reporting, and respond to security events and event mitigations.

After covid, this role is located ONSITE in an IBM office located in Raleigh, North Carolina. There is no remote or work-from-home option post covid.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
* Firewall configuration and operations experience
* Working knowledge of general security technologies (SIEM, DLP, WCF, IPS)
* Prior experience supporting network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls
* Working knowledge of networking concepts including protocols, connectivity, and cybersecurity

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
* Previous experience working as a firewall admin
* Certification in an industry-leading firewall (Cisco, Fortinet, SonicWall, Barracuda, Sophos, Check Point, Forcepoint, Juniper)
* A Palo Alto certification would be preferable: PCCSA - Palo Alto Networks Certified Cybersecurity Associate or PCNSA - Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator or PCNSE - Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer
* Degree in either Engineering, Networking, Security, Computer Science, Cybersecurity or equivalent level of industry related experience
