Acting on the direction of the Purchasing Manager, this position is accountable for implementing and controlling the procurement of raw materials, containers, cartons and related packaging supplies on time and at the best price. While achieving the above goals, the Buyer must maintain an uninterrupted flow of production and keep appropriate inventory levels while achieving plant inventory and production efficiency goals.

Major Tasks Performed:
Plan and purchase raw and packaging components for the manufacturing facility.
Expedite/ de-expedite components based on inventory levels and production schedules.
Analyze label requirements and take necessary action to ensure labels coordinate with batch shipment.
Review MRP daily for unusual production to determine inventory levels.
Interface with Production, Receiving, and Accounts Payable to resolve invoice discrepancies.
Assist with production scheduling upon request.
Conduct administrative duties of job as required.

Basic Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future
Must have Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution or at least 4 years work experience
Must have computer experience including Microsoft Office Suite Excel, Word, and Power Point
Must have at least 1 year of experience in a Supply Chain function or completion of the GSC trainee program

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in raw material buying
Other computer experience such as QAD, Oracle, SAP
Willingness to relocate if in the future considered for promotional job opportunities

Competencies:
Strong Communication skills both oral and written
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to effectively prioritize and continually manage multiple demands
