Department Overview
The Land Management (LM) organization is responsible for providing land surveying, land rights and acquisition services in support of gas/electric transmission and distribution projects. Other LM responsibilities include the oversight and management of PG&E land assets which include fee properties and various land entitlements. PG&E owns nearly 200,000 acres of land spread across 48 California counties, from Shasta County on the north to Kern County on the south. The company is one of the largest private property owners in the state, and in addition manages thousands of acres of right-of-way easements for gas and electric facilities
Position Summary
The Work & Resource Analyst develops and communicates an integrated and optimized work plan portfolio for all lines of business that are served by LM. Develops effective working relationships with functional leads to establish the baseline strategic approach to work plan execution using systems and applications such as SAP, R/3, Business Warehouse, Business Objects, Access, MSOffice Products (advanced Excel, Word, Charts, Power Pivots), especially for large data sources. Evaluates work portfolios ensuring associated costs, timing and resources needed are integrated and optimized to execute work plans efficiently. Develops contingency plans as needed. Monitors execution and updates portfolios for planning purposes. Drives strategic adjustments as needed to work portfolios. Works with key stakeholders to identify work plans for short and long-term business improvements.
Job Responsibilities
Collects data from company wide applications to create reporting for LM Leadership in connection with line of business project orders, contracting/invoicing
Support Salesforce-structural build, reporting, ongoing development efforts
Works with functional leads on strategic portfolio planning issues. Works with Senior Management to support strategic planning, decision-making and present complex data and findings to diverse audiences
Partners with functional areas to develop integrated work plans
Develops detailed contingency plans for the portfolio of work in the annual and long-term plans
Provides in-depth analysis of business issues, including existing or future portfolio plans and scenarios.
Develops new models, uses existing to analyze portfolio planning issues.
Provides consultation within and across the department on the most complex issues and problems
Develops and delivers presentations on specific strategic work plans to a wide range of stakeholders across the service territory
Identifies opportunities for business process improvement
Leads groups through brainstorming and process mapping to help improve business processes
May leads cross-functional projects for the department on strategy for business process improvement
Coaches less experienced team members
Qualifications
Minimum
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Business, Statistics or Finance or equivalent experience
10 years of related business experience
Experience in data & financial analysis and management
Experience in maintenance and construction-related activities
Desired
* Lean six sigma or other process improvement certification
* Experience with work plans and resource management
* Technical skills using systems and applications such as SAP, R/3, Business Warehouse, Business Objects
* Ability to lead cross-functional projects or initiatives of high complexity and impact.
* Ability to apply knowledge and skill to resolve the most complex problems
* Ability to change priorities and work effectively with incomplete information
* Solid understanding of utility budget process, cost model and regulatory recovery process
* Conceptual knowledge of SOX compliance
