Central Carolina Hospital

Under the direction of the DCQI/RM, is responsible for managing and coordinating the operations, functions, and objective of the Clinical Quality Department. Responsible for ensuring staff coordinates patient care activities to conform to evidence-based practices and regulatory requirements. Responsible for collaboration with physician and other healthcare disciplines to assure positive interdisciplinary workflow and service excellence. Assist with coordinating all Joint Commission and Hospital quality council activities and makes recommendations based on standards and best practices. Assist with management of performance measurement and improvement activities designed to improve patient care and patient safety. Assist with implementation of quality objectives relat3ed to the performance improvement program. Responsible for coordination of peer review and mortality review.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
1. Maintains knowledge of current core measure data abstraction guidelines
2. Develops and communicates annual reporting schedule for all performance improvement activities
3. Functions as a resource for department directors
4. Assists with physician review activities
5. Maintains working knowledge of quality initiatives
6. Serves as a resource on the Joint Commission, State and Federal regulations
7. Collects, enters, analyzes and presents quality improvement data and activities
8. Participates with leaders in the development and revision of indicators and monitoring activities
9. Assists with validation of abstracted quality data
10. Prepares reports for presentation to medical and hospital committees
11. Coordinates provider and nursing peer review committees
12. Assists in initiatives to improve/maintain core measure scores
13. Provides education to employees related to quality improvement initiatives
14. Participates in the department process improvement plan
15. Performs database queries as needed
Job Requirements

Required Education:
Bachelors degree is required.
Required License:
Registered Nurse in North Carolina is required (or compact state)
Required Certification:
CPPS and/or CPHQ desirable
American Heart Association BLS is required
