Manager, Perioperative Materials Utilization

Job Description

Perioperative Services strives to be the safest perioperative environment in the world, to have the highest quality of perioperative outcomes, and to demonstrate the core values in our vision. Partnered with Anesthesiology and Critical Care, the Division of Nursing and the Division of Surgery, this multidisciplinary team performs more than 15,000 surgical cases each year in more than 30 operating rooms spanning the Main Building and Mays Clinic.

The ideal candidate for the Manager, Perioperative Materials Utilization will have a Bachelor's degree and five years professional clinical experience in materials management to include three years in management. Will work in the Perioperative Services Department.

Key Functions

* Oversee the Materials Management area which support the institution's 43 operating rooms (Main and ACB). Annual spend of exceeding $40M.
* Management of staff with 24/7 coverage.
* Oversee systematic approach to clinical value analysis support for products, technologies and capital equipment for the operating room including assessment and evaluation.
* Primary liaison for Materials area with the Enterprise Resource Program.
* Analyze usage/utilization in conjunction with Sourcing and Contracts to identify cost reduction opportunities, standardization and reimbursement.
* Produce and present quarterly reports to the Division of Surgery Executive Committee and bi-annual reports to the Operating Room Executive Committee.
* Ensures a balance in maintaining high quality and safe patient care and cost effective operations.
* Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION
Required: Bachelor's degree in health care related field

EXPERIENCE
Required: Five years professional clinical experience in materials management to include three years in management. May substitute required degree for years of experience on a one to one basis.
