This key position is responsible for directing, coordinating, and supervising all pharmacy services across the Baptist Health La Grange hospital and three infusion centers. This position ensures the delivery of safe, appropriate, accessible, cost-effective, and high-quality pharmaceutical care for patients and ensuring the highest clinical competence of staff members.

The Pharmacy Director provides operational and strategic leadership for pharmacy services and is accountable for compliance with all federal and state laws, hospital accreditation standards, and professional practice regulations. Serving as the hospital’s Chief Medication Safety Officer, the Director oversees medication safety initiatives, formulary management, controlled substance compliance, and the integrity of the 340B Drug Program and supports retail pharmacy operations.

This key position acts as an advisor to senior leadership and works collaboratively with physicians, nursing leadership, and system pharmacy leadership, to implement programs that enhance medication therapy outcomes, improve operational efficiency, and support the organization’s quality and strategic objectives. The role also ensures appropriate staffing, resources, and infrastructure to support safe medication procurement, storage, distribution, and administration across the hospital and its three infusion centers. 

Requirements

Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college of pharmacy, with a PharmD preferred.

A minimum of five years of pharmacy leadership experience with strong knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations is required.

Previous experience with a 340B Drug program is desired. 

Candidates must hold a current Kentucky pharmacist license or be eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

Completion of a PGY1 and/or PGY2 residency and board certification are preferred.
