Job Summary
The Engineering Services Engineer is responsible for ensuring that production machinery and supporting systems operate safely, reliably, and efficiently. This role involves troubleshooting, maintaining, and improving physical infrastructure and control systems, as well as leading or supporting engineering projects focused on performance and reliability improvements.
Key Responsibilities
• Ensure optimal performance and reliability of mechanical and electrical equipment through:
• Digital drive systems, PLCs, DCS, and other process control systems
• Plant computer systems and industrial network
• Electrical power distribution systems
• Maintain and act on performance reports for buildings, equipment, and environmental systems
• Develop, evaluate, and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance systems
• Actively participate in and promote the plant’s safety program and processes
• Collaborate effectively with:
• Engineering Services team members
• Other plant departments and cross-functional teams
• External contractors and vendors
• Support the Engineering Services Manager in:
• Coaching and developing team members
• Promoting a culture of teamwork, communication, and accountability
• Allocating work efficiently and ensuring timely, accurate completion
• Enforcing and modeling compliance with all safety procedures
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
• 5+ years of industrial experience in process control or equipment maintenance
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Strong initiative and self-management skills
• Excellent problem-solving abilities
• Effective leadership and communication skills across all levels of the organization
• Commitment to safety and collaboration in a team-oriented environment
Successful candidate will demonstrate strengths in:
• Taking initiative and ownership of assigned tasks and projects, including developing the ability to identify non-conformances in equipment, processes, or performance—and taking timely, appropriate action to resolve them
• Operating as a self-starter with minimal supervision
