Job Summary
Responsible for leading the strategic direction of the gas origination organization while directly working on the origination, structuring and marketing of commercial opportunities that focus on customized transactions across energy commodities, regions, pieplines and tenors. This role requires a combination of analytical skills, market knowledge, and relationship management as well as being a strategic leader with the ability to manage internal stakeholders on delivering objectives.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Develop and execute the origination strategy with short- and long-term objectives working together with leadership, origination team, trading, and support functions
Coordinate with origination team to identify existing and new customers while developing and maintaining relationships with customers as part of marketing efforts
Source, negotiate and close profitable transactions in line with prioritized opportunity lists, and ensure smooth transition of closed deals to trading desks for execution
Work in collaboration with quantitative analysis and risk management to propose and approve risk management strategies and new commercial opportunities to optimize, model and manage the portfolio of assets
Analyze market trends and identify potential opportunities by monitoring supply and demand factors, tracking price movements, pipeline opportunities and staying up to date with regulatory changes
Identify potential risks, such as changes in market conditions, and developing strategies to mitigate them
Remain current on fundamental/financial market conditions, pipeline dynamics and drivers impacting the global energy markets
Travel as required to represent Expand at conferences and client meetings
Job Specific Skills
Origination, negotiation, pipeline flows and portfolio risk analytic skills
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with commodity derivatives to structure transactions
Experience in contract negotiations and execution
Knowledge of energy markets, supply, demand and pipeline capacity dynamics, and global economic trends
Stay up to date with industry news and developments, and be able to quickly analyze and interpret market data to make informed decisions
Strong analytical skills to be able to identify market trends and make informed decisions
Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external customers
Ability to communicate complex concepts and market data in a clear and concise manner
Education
Minimum: Bachelor’s degree - from accredited university - Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering or other Analytical field
Experience
Minimum of 15 years in energy markets including trading, marketing, and origination with a track record of adding value through originating commercial delivery and business growth
