Primary Purpose:
Oversees all inspection, repair, modification, and maintenance activities under the area of their responsibility.
Principal Duties:
- Monitors quality of repair to locomotives and/or cars to assure high reliability of locomotive and/or car fleet.
- Works with control center on scheduling of locomotives in and out of shop as well as all train movements to minimize delays to trains and shop production.
- Provides training to subordinates.
- Ensures all procedures & instructions relating to environmental matters are adhered to by employees.
- Ensures Quality issues are addressed and that work performed at all locations is in accordance with requirements.
- Ensures employees carry out this work within the parameters of Federal, State, & Corporate Safety Regulations, thus requiring complete familiarization with these statutes & rules.
- Keeps records of locomotive and/or car work performed on their shift and makes recommendations for improvements in procedure, shop equipment, or facilities to assure maximum safety, production, and locomotive and/or car performance.
Job Related Experience:
Minimum Level: 3-5 years

Education:
Preferred Level: Bachelor's Degree (BS)
