Overview
The Sr. Accountant is responsible for assisting in month-end close processes, preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and conducting cost center analysis for KA and GFS business. This role ensures compliance with contractual obligations, timely payments, and thorough financial reporting for both internal and external stakeholders.. They will also handle the reporting, and disbursement of royalties to partners and internal teams, and be the primary point of contact for external auditors and handles any royalty-related inquiries or audits.
Job Responsibilities
Assist in the month-end close process by preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve any accounting discrepancies or irregularities.
Support cost center analysis and internal reporting.
Ensure accurate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses.
Once reconciliations are completed, assist with senior-level accounting duties for both KA and GFS.
Help to clean up and reconcile the KA royalty accounting area, which is currently behind and will take time to fully resolve.
Accurately calculate and report royalties, ensuring timely payments to partners.
Interpret contracts to ensure compliance with royalty terms and conditions.
Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors on royalty matters.
Contribute to month-end reporting and liaise with external teams for royalty and auditing inquiries.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
3-5 years of experience in accounting, ideally with a focus on royalty accounting. Experience with audits or GL reconciliations is also considered highly valuable.
Strong understanding of contract interpretation and financial reporting.
Proficiency in handling month-end close processes, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
Demonstrated ability to resolve accounting discrepancies and analyze revenues and expenses.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to serve as a point of contact for external auditors and internal teams.
