Primary Objective:

The role provides leadership on compliance and assists in formulating Mohawks long-term strategy to mitigate compliance risk. Proactively works with HR Leadership, Legal, and other relevant departments on HR processes and related initiatives. This position will provide leadership, development, and technical expertise to HR Partners across business units.

Major Function and Scope:

* Oversees HR compliance areas including but not limited to: Affirmative Action, I-9 and E-Verify compliance, wage and hour, required training, leave of absence/FMLA and other leave/time off policies governmental and compliance data requests, and reasonable accommodation.
* Develops metrics and conducts HR audits for each compliance area to ensure compliance.
* Oversees implementation of corrective action plans to ensure ongoing compliance.
* Leads ad hoc project teams to address any deficiencies in HR compliance identified and develop or modify policies and processes to ensure ongoing compliance.
* Drives innovation of current processes by providing insight of best practices in the industry.
* Responsible for ensuring HR policies and processes comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws.
* Researches and monitors changes in HR compliance requirements and legislation in the federal, state & local sectors.
* Informs senior HR leadership of any changes requiring new or modification of company policies and processes.
* Manages process, communication, and documentation of changes to employee guide and policies.
* Leads the implementation of changes in policies and regulations governing compliance.
* Oversees and leads compliance-related projects and initiatives and proactively formulates risk mitigation strategies.
* Audits mandatory postings and provides resources to HR partners.
* Works with Legal Counsel, and other departments on compliance-related issues and on any external audits conducted by government officials.
* Collaborates with the Learning & Development department to ensure appropriate training is provided to HR partners and Management on compliance requirements, the companys compliance policies and processes, and third-party mitigation.
* Oversees record retention compliance for employee files and provides alternative tools/ideas to digitize documents.
* Responsible for government data requests outputs and processes.

Provides quarterly report outs to Sr. HR Leadership

Type of Experience and Knowledge:

* Bachelors degree in HR or Business Administration or related field.
* 8+ years of professional experience in Human Resources, Employee Relations or related fields with a multi-state company, manufacturing preferred.

5+ years of experience in HR operations or compliance.

Competencies:

* Experience in designing and implementing compliance programs.
* Strong background in HR with core knowledge of OFCCP, EEOC, DOL regulations and practices (past experience with desk or site audits and/or investigating EEOC claims is a strong plus)
* Superior knowledge of key HR systems
* Excellent collaborative skills that translate into effective leadership of a group as well as meaningful participation in short-term project teams
* Ability to build solid working relationships across divisions/functions; ability to gain agreement on issues and next steps from diverse audiences
* Strong analytical thinking and creative problem-solving skills
* Demonstrated ability to accomplish short-term goal and longer-range objectives
* Solid verbal, written, presentation, interpersonal, and consultative communication skills to effectively interact with and positively influence all levels of management, internal and external customers
* Strong project management skills; ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
* Ability to serve as a subject matter expert in enterprise projects.
* Executive-level interpersonal skills.
