Specific Responsibilities
The Accountant II for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache’s Revenue Accounting team, reporting to the Revenue Accounting Manager.
This role will be primarily responsible for the following:
Perform revenue accounting functions related to Apache United Kingdom (North Sea) oil and gas properties, including, but not limited to, revenue accrual calculations, revenue actualization, counterparty invoicing, variance analysis, and receivable maintenance.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts related to assigned properties.
Correspond with production and marketing departments to ensure proper accounting of assigned properties.
Support audits and similar inquiries.
Work on special projects as requested by management.
Interface with multiple groups and individuals, both internal and external to Apache Corporation.
Qualifications & Experience
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Accounting; other field of study may be considered when combined with a minimum of 12 completed accounting hours.
2+ years of professional accounting experience, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
Offshore revenue accounting knowledge and experience a plus.
SAP Financial Accounting (FI) system knowledge and experience a plus.
Intermediate analytical and problem-solving skills.
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data validation, data manipulation, data summarization, etc.).
Working knowledge of Microsoft Teams, Word, and Outlook.
Effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
