Job Description
Mechanical Engineer, Lead
Key Role:
Evaluate contractor weapons systems design against Air Force requirements in support of compatibility certification. Employ mechanical engineering and structures proficiencies for the experimental investigation and development of optical communications and imaging systems and technologies. Apply standard and advanced hardware design methods for the investigation and solution of complex technical problems in prototyping. Support both laboratory and field experimentation and data exploitation during testing and development. Collaborate with engineers and physicists to explore optimal solutions for a variety of problems in optical technology and systems development.
Basic Qualifications:
* Experience with performing systems engineering analysis on multiple military acquisition programs
* Experience with usuing Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Project
* Experience with DoD acquisition processes
* Knowledge of electrical and mechanical system design, systems Concept of Operations (CONOPS), and Integration and Test
* Ability to obtain a security clearance
* BA or BS degree
Additional Qualifications:
* Experience with nuclear certification
* Experience with Agile Software Development methodologies
* Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering
* Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint
* Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
* BA or BS degree in Engineering, Science, or Mathematics
* International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) Certification
