About You and this Role

Dow Texas Operations is seeking innovative and driven individuals interested in being considered for Maintenance Engineer opportunities supporting our Polyethylene Plant located in Freeport, TX!

Texas Operations is the largest integrated chemical complex in the Western Hemisphere. It is comprised of 4 major facilities, covering 20 square miles. The site contains more than 3,200 acres of waterways and pipeline corridors, 4,700 acres of reservoir operations and 9,500 acres used for grazing. The products manufactured on site are transported by rail, truck, marine vessels and pipeline to customers around the world. Texas Operations manufactures 30 percent of Dow's products sold in the United States.

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will share responsibility and accountability for the plant assets and achievement of plant related business goals. You may also function as a liaison to supplement and support other maintenance areas, such as maintenance activity coordination, when gaps exist between maintenance and other functions. 

Responsibilities

Provides day-to-day support for the plant aligned assets 
Equipment protection plan review and field audit 
PPM, Lubrication, Vibration Program development 
Reliability Strategy Implementation 
Spare part selection 
Equipment data upload to SAP and C&SU database 
Supports Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) engagement, particularly in the field and in the areas of personal safety and compliance. 
Provides a clear focus on creating a highly reliable organizational culture and the elimination of unplanned events by implementing reliability and maintenance services and solutions. 
Provides coaching and feedback to other maintenance team members. 
Implements and provides on-going support of the Maintenance Procedure Use Policy at the facility. 

Qualifications 

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant ranking 
A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience (i.e. maintenance, engineering, reliability, etc.) 
Ability to work comfortably and safely at elevated heights. Candidates must be familiar with, or willing to undergo training in, the proper usage and maintenance of safety equipment to ensure safe movement and operations at heights.
Must be willing and able to travel up to 10% annually with or without reasonable accommodation 
A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. ?No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process. 

Preferred Skills

A bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical engineering
