Job Description

Responsibilities

The Sr. Manager, Data Governance is responsible for leading and directing the development of a comprehensive data governance program including key capabilities such as Data Catalog, Data Quality, KPI Management, and others as identified. This includes managing a stable instance of a data governance platform such as Collibra.

This role will be responsible for leading a team of data governance professionals with dotted-line relationships to data stewards and data owners across both technology and business teams at Envision.

Responsibilities

Directs and coordinates resources to support routine data governance use case builds via agile methodology
Mentors team and develops the skill sets needed to support data governance functions, including application administration, application configuration, stakeholder engagement, business analysis whether through mentorship of direct reports or indirect reports via federated governance model
Responsible for building and maintaining data governance team of direct and indirect reports, including recommendations for necessary positions, submission of PRRs, and hiring qualified candidates
Responsible for facilitating collection, prioritization, and implementation of use cases which are identified through data governance program
Responsible for management of risks which will hinder the data governance program progress and core value proposition
Build strategic partnerships with service line/business function leaders and data governance stakeholders in all areas

Qualifications

3 – 5 years of experience leading data governance programs with multiple business units in scope
Proven ability to build & sustain data governance team, including technical, process, and functionally driven roles
Proven record of coaching professionals both in a formal and an informal role
Experience in the healthcare data field is required
Demonstrated experience in collaborating with both business and technical teams
Ability to quickly understand business processes and the underlying data needs filled by those processes
Experience creating detailed requirements documents, design documents, and workflows
Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, prioritization, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate with all levels of management and team members
Ability to understand and analyze user requirements as they relate to organizational goals and objectives
Ability to present across a multi-functional executive group
Able to communicate effectively with non-technical staff and with members of interdisciplinary teams
Self-starter without specific direction who can identify and pursue high-profile data governance use cases
Effectively prioritizes and successfully executes projects in a high-demand environment

Education/Experience

Bachelor's Degree from four-year College or University in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, or similar; 10 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
