About this role:

The Issues and crisis communications advisor is responsible for driving the crisis communications strategy and response process at TI while also promoting and protecting the company’s reputation as part of the Corporate Communications team. You will ensure TI’s corporate story and message is clear and consistent across various audiences and will evolve, grow and maintain TI's crisis communications playbooks and processes. A successful candidate must demonstrate experienced critical thinking and an ability to effectively collaborate across teams and thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.

What you will gain from this role:

Deep knowledge of internal and external crisis and issues management communications, response strategies and TI’s business continuity program and processes

Close working relationships with leaders and functional experts across the company to partner proactively on issues management strategies and messaging

Experience understanding and influencing TI’s public relations strategy

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Proactively support and optimize TI’s issues and crisis communications processes in partnership with external PR and issues agencies

Develop reactive issues positions, holding statements, key messages, Q&A and speaking points.

Foster collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders across the company (including corporate/employee communications, government relations, legal, HR, investor relations, business continuity, sales and others)

Work closely with leaders and subject matter experts to lead the crisis communications processes and ensure strong communications support in a “roll up your sleeves” way

Bring the necessary creativity and hustle to move projects forward and help connect dots across corporate communications and the company

Assess the media landscape, analyzing news for issues that would influence TI and proactively provide updates and recommendations

Maintain and contribute to TI’s crisis communications processes to help improve execution and efficiencies

Represent Corporate Communications on cross-functional teams, such as TI’s Incident Command, TI Government Relations and Business Continuity teams

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, and/or related field

4 years related experience in a communications role, with experience in crisis management, media relations and/or public relations.

Solid organizational and leadership skills

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to work on highly-confidential projects with discretion

A “can-do” problem solver who thrives and remains calm under pressure

Heightened attention to detail

Proven ability to influence without authority; strong persuasive skills in-person and in writing

Ability to understand complex issues and synthesize a succinct communications approach, and respond under tight deadlines

Excellent, adaptable interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment

Prior experience working with media and managing agency partners

Experience working globally and with colleagues in multiple locations

Experience in the high-tech industry, preferably in a business-to-business environment
