Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will be a key member of the Commercial Data & Analytics (CD&A) team, responsible for supporting budget management processes to ensure compliance, accuracy, and timely key deliverables.

This individual will report to the CD&A SPO and collaborate with cross functional teams and business partners. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified candidate to develop proficiency in budget processes and project management, demonstrate their versatility, and gain an overall understanding of Amgen’s business. The Budget Manager will achieve success by utilizing their background and experience to:

Lead purchase order processing, supplier on-boarding, and open invoice issues resolution for CD&A

Process and track Purchase Order requests, determine approved funding, correct general ledger categories and Anaplan ID, identify, and resolve any issues

Confirm all PO requests are compliant with Amgen guidelines, SOPs, and accounting principles

Proactively identify and track relevant data for timely invoice submissions to minimize accruals

Partner with DTI, Finance, Procurement, Accounts Payable, Supplier Management, and Sourcing teams as needed

Participate in Procure to Pay (P2P), new tool updates, and trainings to effectively implement outside expense processes

Account for forecast and accruals, including gathering supporting documentation and submission to Finance within short timelines

Support various sub-teams on budget related requests and analyses, including spend actuals vs budget, quarter-end accrual, variance, ad-hoc reporting, etc.

Support projects and work with manager to develop prioritization and completion timeframes for multiple assignments

Partner with Finance lead, SPO and functional leads to build and develop OSE project structure in Anaplan

Partner with Finance lead, SPO and functional leads to manage and update quarterly forecast in Anaplan

MUST have strong analytical skills and be able to provide adhoc budget reports (actuals vs forecast) to ensure team is tracking to quarterly forecast

Act as procurement and budget SME, and be able to train functional leads on P2P best practices, PO governance, invoicing

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Doctorate degree

OR

Master’s degree and 2 years of budget management experience

OR

Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of budget management experience

OR

Associate degree and 10 years of budget management experience

Or

High school diploma/GED and 12 years of budget management experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Working knowledge of basic finance, accounting, Procure to Pay (P2P)

Functional knowledge of MyBuy, Ariba, SAP, ANAPLAN, and Self-service reporting

Experience with budget management including deferred expenses, quarterly forecasting, and accruals within Amgen’s guidelines

Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, MS Teams; ability to quality check across several sources/files

Ability to work closely with cross functional teams, business partners, brands/business units

Strong analytical and complex problem-solving capability that identifies and implements process improvement opportunities from a strategic and operational perspective

Ability to take initiative, work independently, and exercise appropriate business judgment

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Competent project and time management skills

High attention to detail/reporting accuracy

Ability to prioritize a diverse workload to meet deadlines and business needs/expectations

Great teammate, looks for ways to support team members

Flexible and adaptable ‘Can Do’ attitude with strong interpersonal, organizational and customer service skills in a rapidly evolving environment

Demonstrated track record of increasing responsibility
